October 30^th, marks the release of EMI Music Canada’s Platinum Collection - a brand new Canadian originated series of releases housed in eco-friendly packaging.

The Platinum Collection is a new multi-label, multi-genre series of CD’s that highlight some of the biggest artists from the EMI, Capitol and Virgin labels. With the launch 18 titles have been released and new titles will be added to the collection twice a year.

EMI has a long-standing commitment to good environmental management. This includes minimising the impact on climate change by reducing global carbon dioxide emissions. Dean Cameron comments: “Using green packaging is the next step in reducing our carbon footprint. The PaperFoam tray is the best option in achieving this.”

The Platinum Collection series are packaged in 100% recycled paperboard and the discs are housed in PaperFoam® trays.  PaperFoam® is completely made of natural renewable materials and is 100% biodegradable and recyclable with paper.  PaperFoam® trays are carbon friendly (90% less carbon dioxide vs. jewel cases).

The Platinum Collection website www.emiplatinum.com will launch upon release of the series and will feature biographic information for all of the artists in the collection.
